Quietly, under the radar, last month, Beth Bell released her latest EP "2015". The new EP features 4 new Alt Rock favorites including Love Sublime, Hey Humboldt!, Love Tonight - a great pop-rock track with full orchestration, and an echo-remixed version of her war protest anthem Warmonger. The download also comes with a free hidden songwriting demo - a quirky ode to being young, I'm 18.

BeTh is releasing her single "Love Sublime" officially on iTunes on July 28th. Pre-orders are already available on iTunes and CDBaby.com. Love Sublime is a song written to/for BeTh's daughters, whom she is being prevented from seeing by her ex because of her LGBT status, & about LGBT rights being denied generally, until the recent Supreme Court decision legalizing gay marriage. The B-side cut for this release is BeTh's solo electric version of "Hey Humboldt!", a song about the dark underside of drug culture in Humboldt County, California, otherwise known as the American Amsterdam. These are the YouTube videos for each song. Please like and share with your friends. Thanks so much!

Beth Bell announces the official release of her new single Love Sublime together with Hey Humboldt! The concept is to go back to the time the music industry released 45rpm records with the single as the A-side, with another song from the artist included as the "B-side", here, Hey Humboldt! Beth recorded both of these songs with Jimmy Foot at Bongo Boy Studio in McKinleyville, California. Love Sublime also features Justin Hobart-Brown on bass and Joey Incorvaia on drums. Love Sublime is indie alternative, with an arrangement full of surprising musical hooks and nice guitar solos. The vocals provide a passionate plea to reunite love deprived, in this case, a message to Beth's daughters. Hey Humboldt! is guitar driven madness, a glimpse into the underside of Humboldt county California's (also where Beth currently resides) legendary marijuana and drug culture. Beth Bell's "Love Tonight / Hey Humboldt! - Single" will be officially released later this month on July 28th, and the new release is currently available for pre-order on iTunes and also at www.cdbaby.com.
EXCLUSIVE FIRST LISTEN TO "LOVE SUBLIME / HEY HUMBOLDT! - SINGLE" ON SOUNDCLOUD:
Well, as you can see I have a new personal artist page. A place to tie together all my creative output - the music, the bands, the poetry, the books, the blogs, the radio show, my songwriting, everything!
I've changed my artist name to BeTh Bell. Simple, easy to say, and remember!
Of course, I'm still Beth Isbell, or BeTh isBell, - to those who actually know me.
I have an alternative psychedelic rock band called "BeThisBell", which is a play on my real name. Believe it or not, that's something Justin and Cody came up with, just like when the guys in my first semester music college band decided to name themselves Beth and the Sex Machines, LOL. Well, as we have released a full length album and an EP under that band name within the last 9 months, and we're heading back to record another album in August with grammy-winning Trent Bell producing, the band name BeThisBell is here to stay, and signifies my ongoing band project with Cody & Justin.
As a member of the band BeThisBell, and for all things musical, my artist name is now BeTh Bell.
I also have a local band here in Eureka, CA, which performs as the BeTh Bell Band. And I am now doing all solo shows as BeTh Bell, which is the name my friend JimiJeff pinned on me out here in Northern California, where I host a music showcase, am a radio DJ, and perform music regularly, and how most folks around here either know or refer to me, musically at least. Besides, I sort of like it. ;)
Musically, I am now BeTh Bell. I have two bands (1) BeThisBell, and (2) BeTh Bell (Band). Actually three, if you include (3) BeTh and Holly, my jazz poetry improvisational duo with Holly Wood (OKC). Oh wait, four, if you include my girlfriends project Raunch Baux ... but that's a whole 'nother story. ;)
OK, I think that's clear.
And I think I'll keep the capital T in my first name BeTh in memory of all this, ha, and to separate me from any other Beth Bell's out there. And, mainly, just because I like it. So ... BeTh Bell. #BeThBell
Now to confuse you again. My poetry and books are published and released under my author name Sarah E. Isbell. Which is also my real name. Go figure. Sarah Elizabeth, but I just go by BeTh. Bell.
And now you know the full story. ;) Or, at least, the last half of the full story anyway ...
Peace and much love,

BeTh Bell Bio
“I am the bastard love child of Janis Joplin & Jim Morrison, except that one day while Jimbo took a trip in the desert, Janis was in NYC banging Lou Reed. It's all a little fuzzy from there, ... and yes, I'm actually a girl! ... well, currently!” - BeTh Bell
BeTh Bell’s (aka BeTh isBell) journey to become the psychedelic punk glam rocker she is today hasn’t - by any means - taken a traditional musician’s path to artistic fruition. BeTh, born as a young boy named Bill in Columbus, GA, grew up in the US and Europe through school, college and law school as boy. Then as a man. And, now a woman. Now an accomplished musician with a library of diverse yet equally compelling recordings, Beth’s gift as a songwriter and infectious live performances mix elements of both genders, all while maintaining, at the core, a magical soul and mastery of craft capable of inspiring the hope within all of us to be who we truly are.
“Adversity challenges one’s true soul to emerge,” BeTh often says.
The struggle to overcome infects her lyrics, propelled by a resonant assault of musical textures that contrasts peace sought with the war in one’s mind. Beau-tiful, haunting at times, her music has the power to fill and teach souls. BeTh’s powerful songs and performances are summed up by her personal haiku: "I live to create, fucking art for the masses. This bitch loves to rock!"
BeTh’s musical journey began in the late 90s, after a divorce, as she was winding down her career as a civil rights attorney and beginning her journey to cross the gender divide. She fell in love with music, singing songs around campfires with talented songwriter and guitarist friends. Infused with these folk influences, the first country song she ever wrote, “The Good Woman Waltz” became the title cut of her first CD, originally released under the name Bill Isbell, and the #1 song in the Texas Top 40 for original songwriters. Simultaneously, she began furiously writing punk rock songs and released The Flying Lennys EP a punk-pop collection that featured a special guest appearance by one of her close friends, neighbor, and musical mentors, Jazz legend Joe McBride.
Living as a women in a man’s body was not an easy evolution; BeTh was thrown out of clubs and banned from playing some of her favorite venues as her soul and body transitioned. But, she persevered. During this trying period, she focused on song writing and improving her performance skills (BeTh describes herself “as a song-writer first, who loves to perform”) as the front person for Dallas psychedelic blues rock band - and underground critic darlings - The Dead Prophets. BeTh’s prolific songwriting continued and she placed in several national songwriting competitions and went on to release a number of EPs spanning genres including coffee-house style folk rock and blues [“Live @ The Blue Moon” (B. Isbell), “The Awakening” (B. Isbell), “Aardvark” (Beth Isbell) and “This Is The Blues!” (Beth Isbell)].
BeTh’s current sound can be described as a mix of an acoustic & electric Neil Young guitar assault and a David Bowie/Iggy Pop voice, which with a full band, blends passionate delivery & a Morrison/Joplin-era sound. One fan recently described BeTh's sound as "Jim Morrison backed up by The Stooges (Iggy Pop)." In September 2014, BeTh and her band alternative psychedelic rock band BeThisBell, a collection of good friends from music college (ACM@UCO) released “We Are The Gods!” - a full-length psychedelic-grunge-punk-glam rock album, produced by Trent Bell (Chainsaw Kittens). The band issued a 5 song follow up EP "Work It Out" in April 2015, with Trent Bell producing again. The band BeThisBell is currently set to record a follow-up album with Trent Bell in August 2015, for release in Spring 2016 (approx.). Beth is scheduled to release her first two singles under her new Beth Bell stage/artist name, with Love Sublime as the A-side, and Hey Humboldt! as the B-Side on July 28, 2015. Pre-orders are available now on iTunes or at CDBaby.com through July 27th.
If overcoming the struggle to be who you are in life and music had a name, it would be Beth Bell.
